Project Details
The PAT Gross and Zamudio Animal Labs were successfully completed to create state-of-the-art research facilities for Dr. Gross and Dr. Zamudio within the J.T. Patterson Building on the UT Austin campus. Upgrading these modern animal labs in a facility dating back to the 1960s involved extensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work. This included the installation of new fan coil units (FCUs), humidifiers, and dehumidifiers, along with sophisticated control sequencing to ensure precise environmental conditions for the diverse aquatic life housed in the labs. Additionally, we provided the necessary infrastructure for a robotic-operated laboratory fish aquarium system, designed to support tens of thousands of zebrafish and other laboratory animals.
